About Sea Shepherd Conservation Society

Established in 1977, Sea Shepherd Conservation Society (SSCS) is an international non-profit organisation, which has for mission to put an end to the destruction of the ecosystems and to the massacre of the wild fauna of Oceans of the whole world, with the aim of preserving and protecting the ecosystems and the species. Sea Shepherd uses innovative tactics of direct action to investigate, film and intervene against the illegal activities in open sea.

By enforcing the international laws of environmental protection, Sea Shepherd works on the protection of the biodiversity of our fragile oceanic ecosystems and on their survival for the future generations.

ATTENTION:

Sea Shepherd Conservation Society is not an association of protestation, and usually, never get involved in any petition but acts directly in front of illegal activities on open water. This Swiss Petition is an exception.

There is no Sea, no Ocean in Switzerland, but Switzerland supports indirectly but surely whaling activities by its vote on IWC.

Thus, this petition is necessary and every Swiss citizen has the right to them opinion.

ABOUT SEA SHEPHERD CONSERVATION SOCIETY SWITZERLAND

Sea Shepherd Switzerland is the swiss structure of Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, and has been created in December 2009 in order to inform swiss people and collect founds to support Sea Shepherd's actions.

• In May, we supported the Sea Shepherd Operation Blue Rage (saving and liberation of 800 Bluefin Tuna on Mediterranean) bringing 117kg of Vegan food on board of our vessel Steve Irwin, collected by donators and members.
• On August, we took part on Operation STOP THE GRIND on Faore Island, and contributed again on vegan food onboard, thanks to Lush Switzerland donation.

This time, we launched this petition, in partnership with Swiss Cetacean Society, and supported by many others associations, singers (like Stress and Wax Tailor), sportives, and Societies (like 7Sky Magazine) in order to collect 300 000 signs to get swiss votes against any form of whaling on IWC.
